The secret is out!

30 Sep

As all of you know Vancouver is full of hidden gems – hole in the wall bars, quiet gardens and wonderful shops. As a part of Culture Days, the national celebration of arts and culture, a handful of celebrated Vancouverites shared some of their favourite undiscovered cultural haunts. Our beautiful and talented friend Jill Barber kindly presented us as one of the Cultural Secrets of Vancouver and we couldn’t be more excited! Check out this map of cultural secrets across the city (click the Wise Hall to read more about the Rain City Chronicles) and watch the clip of Jill revealing her secret.

On “Becoming a Woman”

Last November, as a part of our Mixed Messages show, Lauren Bercovitch won over a packed house with a tale of her adult Bat Mitzvah. For those who have yet to experience the Rain City Chronicles or a show at the WISE Hall here is a perfect appetizer for our next show Saturday night. Information about the show and tickets available here.

Take a Peek

We love knowing what goes on behind closed doors. Think about the thrill of being in the kitchen of a favourite restaraunt, taking a tour of an engine room, slipping backstage or even the excitement of learning how marbles are made.

It’s about revealing secrets, crossing the line, and sharing the experiences people can’t hardly imagine. (And although we’ll never get to sneak past security guard to get a kodak moment with Buddy Holly, at least we can live through this photo.)

As a part of the Olio Festival 2011 we proudly present your storytellers and performers for Behind The Scenes.
